New ABIA partner for its 25th year

28 Aug 2024

In 2025 industry news outlet Books+Publishing (B+P) will take the production reins of the industry awards from the Australian Publishers Association (APA) under a new licensing agreement.  The ABIA, which next year will celebrate 25 years, will be known as ‘The Australian Book Industry Awards presented by Books+Publishing’.

Books+Publishing is Australia’s top, independent source of news about the book industry, now in its 103rd year. They’re also the only source of pre-publication reviews of Australian and New Zealand books.

The Australian Book Industry Awards (ABIA) celebrate the best Australian books and audiobooks, alongside the exceptional talent and creativity across the entire book industry in Australia. This partnership will shine an even brighter spotlight on the best books and audiobooks of the year, presenting a celebration of the publishers, booksellers and bookshops that support authors and illustrators to create such a vibrant and successful Australian book industry.

B+P will present the 2025 awards with contributions from industry leaders serving on the ABIA Committee, including Dan Ruffino, Managing Director at Simon & Schuster Australia, Louise Stark, CEO of Hachette Australia and Keiran Rogers, Sales Director at Affirm Press.

Further information about the awards, including dates for nominations, tickets and shortlists will be announced later this year.
